On December 24, the "China Academic
Journal International Citation Report (2024 Edition)", jointly compiled by
CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) and Tsinghua University Press,
released the list of China's Most Internationally Influential Academic
Journals. By counting citations of 7,138 Chinese journals in international
journals, the International Citation and Communication Index (ICCI) was
calculated separately for four categories: scientific and technological English
journals, scientific and technological Chinese journals, social science English
journals, and social science Chinese journals. Based on the ICCI in descending
order, 330 journals were selected as "China's Most Internationally
Influential Academic Journals" and 330 as "China's Excellent
Internationally Influential Academic Journals" (referred to as TOP
journals).
Both academic journals hosted by
International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation
(IRTCES) were successfully included in the list. Among them, International
Soil and Water Conservation Research (ISWCR) was selected into the
"China's Most Internationally Influential Academic Journals (Natural
Sciences and Engineering Technology)", and International Journal of
Sediment Research (IJSR) was selected into the "China's Excellent
Internationally Influential Academic Journals (Natural Sciences and Engineering
Technology)".
This list has been widely recognized by
the journal community and scientific research management departments, playing a
positive and important role in helping Chinese journals enter the international
stage, and establishing international academic brands. The inclusion of the two
journals hosted by IRTCES objectively reflects their high-quality presentation
of high-level research results and their extensive influence in the
international academic research field.
International Soil and Water Conservation
Research (ISWCR) was officially launched in June 2013. It is an
English-language academic quarterly supervised by the Ministry of Water
Resources and jointly sponsored by the International Research and Training
Center on Erosion and Sedimentation, China Water & Power Press Co., Ltd.,
and China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research. The journal
mainly publishes research and review articles in fields such as soil erosion,
soil and water conservation, conservation agriculture, soil evaluation and
management, land degradation, watershed management, and sustainable
development. In 2024, it was selected into the "English Single Journal
Echelon" project under the second phase of the China Science and
Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan.

International Journal of Sediment Research
(IJSR) was founded in 1986. Supervised by the Ministry of Water Resources and
jointly hosted by the International Research and Training Center on Erosion and
Sedimentation, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, and
Tsinghua University, it is an English-language bimonthly journal. It serves as
a platform for scholars and engineers both at home and abroad engaged in river
sediment and watershed management to exchange scientific and technological
achievements and conduct academic discussions. In addition to publishing
content related to sediment transport mechanics and fluvial processes, it also
covers topics such as geography, geomorphology, soil erosion, watershed
sediment yield, soil and water conservation, the impact of sediment on the
environment and ecology, and assessments of social and economic issues caused
by sediment, encompassing all sediment-related problems across entire
watersheds from river sources to estuaries. In 2024, it was once again selected
into the "English Single Journal Echelon" project under the China
Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan.
