This year, both the International Journal of Sediment Research and the International Soil and Water Conservation Research have been awarded the “English Tier Journal” project under the second phase of the China Science and Technology Journals Excellence Action Plan (2024-2028), which is jointly implemented by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the National Press and Publication Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The project selectively supports English-language scientific journals that have a certain international influence in their disciplinary fields. It continues to strengthen the capability to capture top academic achievements in basic research frontiers and significant applied research, accelerates the process of becoming a world-class scientific journal, provides professional services for researchers to access high-quality academic resources and engage in high-level academic exchanges, and offers platform support for the priority publication of high-quality papers. The inclusion of the journals in the second phase of the China Science and Technology Journals Excellence Action Plan provides strong support for accelerating the cultivation of world-class academic journals, enhancing the quality and international influence of journals, promoting the reform and development of scientific and technological journals, and striving to explore a path of high-quality development for Chinese scientific and technological journals.
