On November 15, Mr. WANG Zhengbing, Professor of Delft University of Technology visited the IRTCES. The two sides held discussions on scientific research cooperation and the organization of the International Symposium on Estuaries and Coasts. Mr. PAN Qingbin, Deputy Director of IRTCES, with relevant heads and experts from the Research and Training Department, attended the discussion.

Mr. PAN Qingbin extended a warm welcome to Mr. WANG Zhengbing, thanked him for his support in hosting the International Symposium on Estuaries and Coasts and the development of the International Journal of Sediment Research, and invited him to participate in activities marking IRTCES’ 40th anniversary in the coming year.

Ms. SHI Hongling introduced IRTCES’ origins, development history, organizational structure, and work scope. Mr. LIU Cheng briefed the guests on the organization and hosting of previous International Symposiums on Estuaries and Coasts.

Mr. WANG Zhengbing shared updates on research projects at Delft University of Technology. He highly praised IRTCES’ achievements over 40 years and pledged continued support for its development. Highlighting IRTCES’ fruitful results in sediment management research of global typical rivers, he expressed hope to strengthen cooperation with IRTCES.

Both sides also had in-depth exchanges on organizing the 9th International Symposium on Estuaries and Coasts.
