The 6th China-Arab States Expo Water Resources Forum was held in
Yinchuan, Ningxia, China, on September 17. The forum released 16 water
conservancy cooperation achievements that have been promoted and achieved
results in "Belt and Road" partner countries. The International
Commission on Irrigation and Drainage awarded a plaque for the World Heritage
Irrigation Structures Digital Exhibition Center to the Ningxia Water Resources
Department. Twelve domestic and international experts attended the forum and
delivered reports.
Mr. WANG Daoxi, Vice Minister of Water Resources; Ms. DONG Ling,
Vice Director of the Standing Committee of Ningxia People's Congress; and Mr. WANG
Li, Vice President of Ningxia, delivered speeches.
With the theme "Technology Empowers Water Conservation and
Intensive Utilization", the forum aimed to build a platform centered on
water resources to meet needs such as promoting trade, increasing investment,
and improving people's living standards. It aimed to innovate foreign
cooperation service channels, strengthen information exchanges on water
resources with "Belt and Road" partner countries, encourage the
transfer of advanced technologies, promote dialogue and collaboration between
governments and enterprises, provide China's water governance ideas, relevant
standards, products, and services, facilitate trade orders and project implementation,
and strive to develop the China-Arab States Expo Water Resources Forum into a
new channel for water cooperation, water technology exchanges, and water
economic cooperation.
At the forum, 16 water conservancy cooperation achievements promoted
and effective in "Belt and Road" partner countries were released.
These achievements cover various types such as exchange and cooperation
platforms, scientific research platforms, key technologies, and technology
promotion, and are eligible for promotion in "Belt and Road" partner
countries. Some of these achievements have not only benefited China
domestically but also gone global, contributing China's wisdom in water
governance to other countries. The "World Association for Sedimentation and
Erosion Research (WASER)" submitted by IRTCES was selected as one of the
16 water conservancy cooperation achievements. Mr. LIU Cheng from IRTCES, who
serves as Vice President and Executive Secretary-General of the WASER, attended
the forum.
