The
award ceremony of Distinguished Contributions to International Journal of Sediment
Research (IJSR) was held in Chengdu, China on Sept 19, 2019. Prof. Zhaoyin
Wang, President of the Association, Prof. Guangquan Liu, Deputy Director of
IRTCES, Prof. Gary Parker, Vice-President of International Scientific
Committee; Prof. Marcelo H. Garcia, a representative of the participants,
Prof. Hongwei Fang, the Editor in Chief, experts, scholars and administrators
from related universities, institutes and government branches from 25
countries and regions, participated in the award ceremony. The award ceremony
was chaired by Prof. Zhaoyin Wang.
Prof. Hongwei
Fang declared Distinguished Contributions to IJSR during the period 2016-2018
and expressed his congratulations to them. Three papers with corresponding
authors of Prof. Navid Kimiaghalam (Canada), Prof. Hongling Shi (China) and
Prof. Danesh Tafti (USA) received awards for Distinguished Contributions to
International Journal of Sediment Research. Prof. Gary Parker, Prof. Marcelo
Garcia and Prof. Pengzhi Lin handed certificates to the winners of Distinguished Contributions to IJSR.
Prof.
Hongling Shi and
Prof. Danesh Tafti made
speeches, expressed their adoration to IJSR and their willingness to continue
to make great efforts for the advancement of the state-of-the art in sediment
research.
The
World Association of Sedimentation and Erosion Research (WASER) established
this award in 2004 to provide international recognition for distinguished
contributions to the sediment studies through original and illuminating
research papers published in IJSR. Distinguished Contributions to IJSR shall be awarded once every
3 years.
