UNESCO-ISI Steering Committee Core Member Meeting was held at the Federal Office for the Environment, Switzerland on March 5, 2010. ISI work plan for 2010 – 2011 and related activities were discussed. Participants are: Dr. Anil Mishra, Programme Specialist of the Division of Water Sciences UNESCO; Dr. R. Jayakumar, Programme Specialist of the Office Bejing UNESCO; Prof. NING Duihu, Deputy Director of IRTCES; Prof. Manfred Spreafico, Chairman of the ISI Steering Committee; Prof. Des Walling and Prof. LIU Cheng, members of the ISI Steering Committee. Dr. Dominique Bérod, Head of Hydrology Division, Swiss Federal Office for the Environment attended the meeting as an invited guest.

In the meeting, ISI activities recently carried-out, activities of IRTCES acting as ISI secretariat and advances of ISI website and information system were summarized, and possible new working procedure of ISI Steering Committee were discussed. Decisions were made after discussion in regard to ISI events in 2010 and later, publications, networking and partnership, and projects.

The participants visited the FOEN calibration laboratory after the meeting.

FOEN calibration laboratory visit
