IRTCES NEWS: From June 21 through 26, 2006, Former Chairperson of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPC), Academician, Qian Zhengying etc had an on-the-spot investigation on harnessing of meandering river course on downstream of the Yellow River. Secretary General of the IRTCES, Vice President of the IWHR, Prof. Hu Chunhong, Advisor of the IRTCES, Prof. Dai Dingzhong, Director of the Department of Sedimentation, IWHR, Prof. Cao Wenhong, Vice Director, Prof. Chen Jianguo, Prof. Guo Qingchao and Senior Engieer, Mr. Chen Xujian also joined the investigation.

From June 22 to 25, accompanied by Prof. Li Guoying,  Director General of the YRWRC Prof. Xue Songgui, Chief Engineer of the YRWRC, Prof. Qian Zhengying discussed about situation of safety of standardized dyke, controlling and diverting projects, embankments and river beaches with officers of the YRWRC, studied the problems of flood release, floodplain and second-grade suspended river and its management, discussed with local governments and local people on production and livelihood and harnessing of downstream in the river beach.
