(IRTCES News, April 25, 2006)： The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Consultant, Agronomist, Dr. Phillip G. Wallens, accompanied by Mr. Zhu Shimng, Division Chief of the Institute of Spatial Planning and Regional Economy, China National Development and Reform Commission, visited the IRTCES for a review of the past international programs on watershed management and soil and water conservation conducted by the IRTCES. Madam. Tong Yuling, Prof. Liu Guangquan, and Prof. Liu Xiaoying had a friendly talk with them. Both sides exchanged information on the ADB project of land degradation control and the experiences of the past international projects undertaken by the IRTCES. Dr. Wallens expressed that the IRTCES has abundant experiences of implementing international projects and a high quality professional team and is fully capable of undertaking more international projects in the future and he hoped that the two sides could strengthen collaboration in the field of land degradation control in the future.
