Professor Dr. Lin Bingnan, Outstanding researcher on hydraulics and river dynamics, one of the pioneers and  the founders of hydraulics disciplines in China, Senior Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, one of the founders of the International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES) under the auspices of UNESCO and the World Association for Sedimentation and Erosion Research (WASER) and Honorary Chairman of the Advisory Council of IRTCES　and Honorary President of China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research died of illness at 6:56 pm on Jan. 3, 2014 in Beijing at the age of 94.

Professor Lin Ningnan’s funeral service is scheduled at 10:00 am Thursday on January 9,  2014, at the East Hall (东礼堂), Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, Beijing.
