Summary:
The international advanced training workshop has been designed with a view to fulfilling the demands of engineers, scientists, managers, stakeholders and decision-makers in various countries. Through lectures, discussions, exchanges and a one-day field study, the participants will be able to improve their professional skills in water and soil conservation theory and practical knowledge, acquire the latest concepts, techniques and information, and establish linkage among participants. This training workshop will be a major activity of the International Sediment Initiative (ISI) of UNESCO for 2010-2011. It is expected to meet one of objectives of ISI on education and capacity building for sustainable sediment management.
